Costa Mesa, CA--- After more than 200 amateur performers competed in last year's SongBurst ® Junior and Adult Singing Competition at the Orange County Market Place, the event will return by popular demand to the swap meet at the O. These rounds held in two divisions: adults 18 years and over and juniors 17 years and under, will have singers vying for a spot in the finals and more than $3,000 in cash awards and savings bonds.

Other qualifying rounds will be held Saturdays, February 21, 28 and March 7. Up to five finalists per division will be selected each date. The SongBurst finals will be held Saturday, March 21.

Pre-registration is not required but there is a $5 entry fee. “We are thrilled to host this event again, and to showcase the talent of these aspiring entertainers. It is a great event for our patrons, and a wonderful opportunity for the performer to sing in front of an audience,” said Jeffrey Teller, president of the Orange County Market Place.

This will be the second year SongBurst has been held at the swap meet venue. In previous years, it was held at venues throughout Southern California with the finals at Jillian’s at Universal City Walk and Righteous Brother Bill Medley’s The Hop in Lakewood.

Last year 13-year-old Cassie Gaylord of Hesperia won first place in the junior division and Edward Pimental, 28, of Cypress won first place in the adult division.
