A Tribute to Neil Diamond starring Dean Colley will be held on Saturday, September 5 with concerts at noon and 2 p.m. Colley, who bills his show as Hot August Night, has been singing his Diamond tribute since 1998 including stints in Las Vegas, Reno, Laughlin, Nevada, and Oregon and throughout Southern California at local fairs, clubs, casinos, concerts in the park and charitable events.

A Tribute to Neil Diamond

Before Colley took on the Diamond persona he sang and played guitar in a variety of rock and roll bands for more than 20 years. It was a combination of his strong physical resemblance to Neil Diamond and a concert promoter suggesting he should do a tribute to the star that led him in that direction and far away from his work as an emergency room technician.

On Sunday, James Intveld will perform from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Intveld, a Los Angeles rockabilly pioneer, actor, composer, director, started his musical career
forming a rockabilly band with his brother Ricky and Pat Woodward called The Rockin' Shadows. They played all over the Southern California area and Ricky and Pat were asked by the late Ricky Nelson to join his band. Ricky and Pat were killed in the plane crash along with Nelson. James went on playing as a solo act in clubs such as The Palomino in North Hollywood, and touring throughout the world.

He was a member of The Blasters for a while and has been in many movies and music videos with such artists as Kathy Mattea, the latest being the George Strait music video, "The Seashores of Old Mexico", where James is the guy waking up and answering the phone at the beginning and later sitting on the beach with George.

Intveld directed the movie Miracle at Sage Creek, starring David Carradine and co-starred with Billy Bob Thornton in Chrystal and recently directed a music video for Dale Watson. He also voiced Cry Baby's (played by Johnny Depp) songs, in the movie of the same name.

“Have Faith” is his most current CD release and his third studio recording.
Intveld divides his time between his homes in Los Angeles and Nashville, TN.
